Hi! Does anyone know how the exact format for the personal statement for the ucas is suppose to be? I'm trying to make mine unique but right now I have an intro paragraph that consists of 500 words, is that too much? When I looked at the sample ucas personal statements that seemed a lot shorter. Please any advice!

It has to focus on why you want to study a particular subject (remember, in the UK you will only study that one subject) and what in your academic or extracurricular background especially qualifies you for these studies. They’re not interested in anything that does not directly apply to your future studies.

What Myos said. This is really really important. Also, watch for informality- they are looking for something more scholarly/professional than personal (even though it is called a Personal Statement).

Go to the student room website and look for threads about personal statements.
