Personal Statement - Research experience

<p>So every institution asks for a personal statement or statement of objects. One significant component in every request is for the student to describe their previous research experiences.</p>

<p>I have 5 significant previous research experiences. I described them in my NSF app and even summarizing each took two pages of text.</p>

<p>Most schools do not list an explicit length for the personal statement, but I presume it should not extend more than 2 pages max? (right?) How should I handle describing my research experience? I don't think it should overwhelm everything else.</p>

<p>Most schools will ask for a cv as well. I would describe the most relevant/meaningful for your research interests and include the others in your cv with a brief summary. You want you Sop to be concise and well thought out. Definitely less than 2 pages.
If the program asks for a separate research statement I think you might be able to expand a bit more.</p>
