Personal statement vs essay?

I just submitted my Tulane application (yay!!! so excited!) and something came up saying I still had time to submit my "personal statement." I used the Tulane Online Application, and I completed the required essay as well as the "Why Tulane" essay. Is there something more I need to do? Is the personal statement something entirely different from these two essays? Or is the essay the personal statement?

PS: I saw people asking about when Gibson accounts would be set up and that they hadn't been given an account yet... when will we be notified of our Gibson account info? I haven't received an email or anything about this yet.. wasn't sure when I should be expecting it

Thank you in advance!

As far as getting the account info, most people have been successful by clicking on the “forgot password” and just having the information sent that way. Sometimes the original e-mail from Tulane gets spammed and you never saw it.

With respect to the “personal statement”, I think you have done everything you need to. Get that password, see what they say about your application being complete or not, and touch base with your admissions person to see if you should be doing anything else. But again, I think you have done what they want.

Thank you so much fallenchemist! I just tried the “forgot password” trick, worked perfectly! My account still says I need to submit everything other than part 1 of the app, so I’m guessing it still needs some time to update. I’ll check back soon and see.
