My critical reading scores are around 650.

The vocab and short reading passages are not a problem - its the long passages that are difficult.
I've mostly been practicing reading with a bunch of practice tests from PR, Barron's, and BB so far.
For workbooks, I've tried Barron's Critical Reading and Gruber's Critical Reading. I found Barron's pretty good (helped me raise my score to 650 when it was even lower) and Gruber's was not that great (not very similar to the real tests.)
I've read Noitaraperp's guide, which was helpful.

Sometimes I can get almost all the questions correctly; other times I am lost.

Is the Peterson's Master Critical Reading for the SAT 2nd Edition worth it? I'd like to raise my scores to 750 if that is even possible...at least hit the 700s consistently.
Thanks in advance :)
