Petitioning an admission decision from FSU... what are my chances?

I recently was denied admission to Florida State University. I have thought about it and I have decided to appeal my admission decision. FSU is really the only school I can see myself at and I know someone that recently petitioned their admission decision and turned his denial into a deferral.

My stats are:
GPA UW: 3.3
GPA W: 3.7

SAT score: 1720 (Math: 550, Writing: 540, CR: 630 (I just retook the SAT and believe my score will definitely improve which will contribute to my appeal.)

I also retook a class that I received a D in freshman year and received an A. This new grade was not reflected on my transcripts when I was denied admission.

I have a lot of extracurricular activities and leadership. I will also send in letters of recommendation.

Any predictions or suggestions?

Well dont get your hopes up. appealing a decision very rarely works out but if you can prove that you truly have improved then its worth a shot.
