Hi,
My profile:
GRE-M740/Q550
GPA-4.36/5.0(top 1 in class)
1st Degree-Petroleum Engineering
Intl Student.
Please advice me on the safe schs i can apply to easily get admission for Fall 2011 and possible funding as I dont want to apply to top schs like Tulsa,TAMU,UT and co just to be rejected like OU just did (Spring 2011 App.)
Your advice is highly needed.

I would have thought you´d be accepted at pretty much all of the Pet.E schools, with a 4.36/5. That’s in the ECTS grading scale, right? 4.36 is very very good!

Wait, what does M740 stand for? And isn´t 550 a pretty low quantitative score-even for non engineering graduate school? Maybe you should think about retaking the GRE?

sorry…my error
i meant…quant 740/ verbal 550

There is a whole world of difference between spring and fall graduate admissions, although they essentially have similar requirements for consideration. For many reasons, more admission offers alloted to fall terms, so I would think you would have probably had a better chance (with your profile) at OU if you had applied for fall.
There are more funding opportunities in fall also, however higher the rank of the school, the better the funding opportunities (esp for masters).
Wish you the best.

Hi
I just got accepted into U of Tulsa for a non thesis MSE , I am a non american and I am still in doubt regarding whether I should join , because of the recent distress in the Energy Industry and also being a non-american makes it difficult for me to get job or internships can anyone of you please help me with some information in this regard .
Thanks
They don’t hire you in America at first with no experience. You would go back to your country to work there. But after a few years of working at your country, you can transfer to America.
