Pets?

What is ucla's policy? I was a student last year and, obviously, cats and dogs are not allowed but where do they draw the line. Is a fish allowed, what about reptiles and small mammals. My roommate had turtles for a while but I was never sure if they were technically allowed. Also, in an old google search, I found an old article that said that ucla actually allows cats provided the owner gets approval from housing and everyone on the floor. I find that kind of hard to believe but whatever.

fish and plants...if you consider plants as pets lol. turtles aren't allowed but my roommate had them too anyway. if you leave them out of sight during room inspection it shouldnt be a problem

Anything is allowed if you can get away with it.

(We had a hamster all last year).

pretty much

Room inspection... by who?! :/ And how often do they do this?
I want to bring a cactus or small bamboo.

Room inspections by the RA and someone from the front desk once a quarter. They'll tell you when they'll be doing it. It's like a span of a week or something
