Has anyone actually gotten their EFC from the PFS by the SSS?

(How's that for a cryptic message?)

Seriously, if you have gotten it, how long did it take after you submitted the PFS?

no. waiting 2-3 weeks.

(a more cryptic answer?)

Still waiting (24 hours. What IS their problem???)

what do all those acronyms mean?!
lol

Estimated Financial Contribution(?)
Parent Financial Statement(?)
Something Something Something…to do with BS and FA
:)

ohhhhh…my dad deals with that
haha

yeah same here
lol
I was like what?!

haha my parents deal with that

I was really freaked out for a sec b/c I thought I forgot something

EFC = Expected Family Contribution
SSS = School and Student Service (for Financial Aid)

my parents dealt with that i think… I hope. but neato im pretty sure they havnt gotten it back yet

I was never totally certain how this whole process is supposed to work. Shame on me.

neato, do you know for sure whether we are suppposed to hear about something definitive from SSS about our EFC before March 10?

I thought you’d get it only after you turned in your 2010 tax and w2’s

I am trying to think back to last year…I’m pretty sure I got it before I did the current year taxes, but maybe not. You could be right, Benley.

I’m glad that had the intended effect on the young 'uns. ;)

I left one out though, it should have read: Has anyone actually gotten their EFC from the SSS at NAIS based on their PFS?

(I’m easily amused.)

Last year was different. They have changed the process.

This young 'un is appropriately confused. I shall attempt to interpret your adult dialect. Lots of fancy words for filling in FA forms, I reckon. :D

Ah, OK Benley. I’ll stop checking the site then. When I do it says that the EFC report is temporarily unavailable but the schools can access it. I guess I can just assume that it’s about the same as it was last year - maybe a little lower since our income is a little lower. I won’t even get all my 1099s until the 31st, probably.

BlueRaven - You probably know what a W-2 is, but do you know what a 1099 or a Schedule C is??? Stay young. I’ve never come across an acronymn that I’ve liked!

Im not american so Im at a disadvantage however I’m pretty sure a 1099 is a tax form, right? Don’t know what a Shedule C is though… I don’t won’t to grow up, it’d cut into my huge amount of free reading time although I guess BS will too.
