Has anyone filled out the PFS and been told that the expected parent contribution is the full amount? We were both surprised and devastated because we can't come close to paying even half. Is there any chance that a school will offer much more than the PFS recommendation, or should we break the news to our son now before March 10?

The FA is usually in the close range of the PFS. in In the same boat. Raised son’s expectation too high. Now we can not afford it. Should not go through this exercise.

(1) Go through the report carefully, line by line, and make sure there aren’t any mistakes. The first time I filled one out, I inadvertently doubled my income by entering it somewhere I shouldn’t have. Saw the mistake immediately, had a minor meltdown, and then went back and fixed it.

(2) Send a letter to the school explaining any special circumstances that make it impossible for you to pay the recommended amount.

(3) Cross your fingers and hope for the best. :)

Good advice, thank you.
