Hello to all I am currently a senior at a public high school and I am applying for a PG year the schools that I am applying to are Loomis Chaffee, Peddie, Hill, Salisbury, and Holderness.
As a junior my grades were
Algebra ll (95)
PE (100)
Band (80)
History (95)
ISL (97)
Chemistry (80)
AP Music Theroy (100)
World Lit (85)
Spanish III (86)
I forgot to put in my freshman and sophomore grades
EC’s
I play waterpolo for my high school team and I am a driver I am hoping to play club in college our team went to easterns in 2015. I also dive for my high school team placed top 16 in suburbans and I dive club. I am currently a member of the EEC enviromental education club. Also I recently just recieved eagle scout scouting highest honor. Also is in the band plays trombone in the pit for musicals and symphonic band.
Also I am from Pennsylvannia which is closer to Hill.
I just took the sats/acts but haven’t gotten my scores back but I got a 1210 on my psats. The reasoning on why I want to pursue a PG year is to prepare myself better for college and to improve my grades.
Please comment If you have any suggestions or what my chances are into getting into these schools.
Thank You
Congratulations on becoming an Eagle Scout! I’m always so impressed by that achievement .
Salisbury doesn’t offer Water Polo … would you be up for something new like Crew? I only ask because I know a lot of kids ( including my own ) who row and play Water Polo… and Salisbury has an amazing Crew program if you like the school, got in and had to trade off on a sport.
I don’t know why… maybe because I’ve known so many successful kids who did a PG year at Salisbury ( who knows ) but I have a feeling you would do very well at Salisbury. Academically-all the schools on your list are a nice fit but Salisbury has a fantastic- highly regarded PG program.
That is… if you can give up the pool for a year and enjoy pursuing new things. You can always pick Water Polo back up in college… and your new PG experiences might enrich you in ways you haven’t imagined. Just a thought…
All the best and good luck!
Thanks for the information I really like salisbury and my neighboor went there the one thing my parents distress is the cost/financial aid and I also live near the hill school which is cheaper.
Totally understandable, @patchy36 . Hill is awesome, too. Good luck and let us know how you make out on M10!
I was wondering I am now kind of more geared towards salisbury both my neighboors went there. When I apply as a pg I know they look at the sport you play but do they also focus more on your grades or extracurrculars, APs, etc ?
