What universities allow you to complete your PHD in psychology online
with only a Bachelors?
An online PhD? Is that legitimately a thing.
@Wise1alwayz - Seriously, you would likely be wasting your money for an on-line “PhD.” A PhD from any reputable accredited university will require many years in residence. Some of that is classroom, but most is research working closely with your advising professor. Ultimately, you have to prepare and defend a thesis (a very long research paper). None of this could be done on-line. Here’s a Psychology PhD program overview from UCLA. https://www.psych.ucla.edu/graduate/prospective-students/the-phd-program-an-overview
Now, many top universities are now offering legitimate on-line masters degrees. In comparison with a PhD, these are lecture/textbook/homework/exam-based programs. Diplomas from these schools are indistinguishable from a masters degree earned in residence. There is no “on-line” designation.
Do not get a PhD in psychology - or anything - online. You’ll spend a lot of money for something that is not worth much and really won’t help your career prospects.
The only way I would say it’s remotely close to worth it is that if you already work at a job that will pay you a higher salary for earning a higher degree and you never plan on leaving that employer. And even then, compare the raise income with the costs of the PhD over time.
