Who plans on majoring in Philosophy? What do you plan on doing for a career after obtaining your degree/s?
Also, does anyone know how difficult this degree is? Relative to, say, Mathematics?

I’m considering it. As far as difficulty goes, I would assume it’s less stressful than mathematics. I suppose it also depends on your strengths. I would loathe a mathematics major.

I’m planning on majoring in philosophy. I do plan to go to law school afterwards though.

Someone I know is going to do philosophy and a minor in computer science (both logic based fields), but I know nothing more.

Interesting. Philosophy is very fascinating to me, and I look forward greatly to taking classes in the subject. I plan on majoring in it, then going to medical school.

Philosophy by itself is quite useless in the job market, but it is very interesting. I’m thinking of majoring in physics with a minor in philosophy or something… That prolly won’t work out thought, so maybe just some philosophy elective :]

Philosophy is great though as an undergrad if you want to go to law school or something similar to that

Philosophy is supposed to be a very hard major. Even if you’re not doing strictly science or math, you do take logic classes and you do have to write rigorous papers. A lot of them. Pick another liberal art if you want to do an “easy” humanity.

I don’t want an “easy” humanity, Frodo. I want an intellectually challenging major, one that will make me think. I see this in Philosophy, and that is why I will be majoring in it.
