The goats call to mind the 3 billy goats gruff. Lol!

Love the pic of Reynesfjara Beach in Iceland. What a wild untamed place! Every year someone gets swept away there by sneaker waves. You probably have as many photos of “The Trolls” as I do.

Here’s a couple from where we are at FIL’s. H was out on his sailboat. The river is roughly 3 miles wide here. We always see Bald Eagles, Osprey, and Blue Herons, plus yesterday saw a pod of dolphins including a couple that were either young and playing or “making youngsters” and “playing.” I’m not quick enough to get any of those in photos though. Even pulling out my camera is a cue for birds to make a quick exit.

But the sailboat is slow enough. :sunglasses:

A sunset landing from a couple nights ago. The sunset was prettier than I could capture, but I still like the photo.

For any sailing fans, his boat is a 19’ Lightning racing sailboat built in 1965. He got it for free because it wasn’t in sailing condition at all. He totally redid it himself and gets a lot of compliments from people who seem to know what they’re doing on the water.

I wish I liked sailing half as much as he does, but hey, someone needs to take the pictures.

Sailboat and a drooping flag is a sad sight. Clearer the reflections in the water the worse the sail.

Oh he had “fun” bringing it in that evening, but it made for nice pics. :grinning:

We almost went to tow him with the motorboat, but then the wind picked up enough and all was well. He does not have a motor on the boat - prefers purely sailing. He does have an oar if he were to need it.

In a good wind he’s clocked the boat at 17.7kts or 20.4mph.

It’s not a strong wind, but I did snag a pic at one point when the flag wasn’t on break.

And H told me he liked this sunset one with the beach better, so I figured I’d post it.

I wasn’t commenting on the boat or the pics (both are nice). Just the lack of wind. And in the second pic with the flag, its not drooping but the boat is tacking and with what looks to be zero heel. Very light wind. But again, nothing against the boat or pics. Spent too much time on lazy sails.

The week of September 21st, 2001 North Tower WTC NYC and St Paul’s Chapel. FYI second photo was taken by a coworker (Pre cell phone days) as we exited our building. Others taken out my office window.

We do not forget!

Wow! Thanks for sharing! Can’t imagine how scared you must have been that day

I will never forget even though I was no where near there.

An overwhelming experience as were the weeks that followed. Our town lost 14 people. Mother’s and fathers many of whom had kids graduate from HS and college these last few years. That loss is embedded in our community.

Thanks for remembering!!

We went to our favorite place this weekend for a stroll, and a picnic, and some ice cream. These guys were at our picnic spot and they were so chill- didn’t mind me getting close for a pic at all.

Their feathers look like ice cream! These birds are so beautiful but can be quite nasty…

He’s as friendly, brave, inquisitive, and mischievous as those eyes look… He’s quite sure of himself and eager to explore this new world he’s found. :sunglasses:
