Very nice sunset photo ~~
So was it as tasty as it looked?
I’m a harsh critic. I think it was a touch overbaked so I would take it out a little early next time. My family was impressed, though, so it was still a win.
Thanks; my samsung does pretty well for a phone. DH and I go on “safari” most nights to see all of the deer and watch the sunsets. Not a bad way to spend an evening.
Do you notice how so many of our prized photos/moments are outside? The ability to enjoy outside/nature/fresh air will always be one of the best gifts and opportunities we get.
To be fair, a good number of my prized moments/photos are inside, but they include people in them, which makes them less widely shareable.
Unless it was my kid receiving an award, a family gathering, or food we’re eating and plan on adding to a review or sharing with family members, I can’t think of any pics we take indoors.
Someday I might get one of our new kitchen floor I suppose, but it’s not high on my list.
Yes of course - I thought the same - inside photos more likely to be people based photos. But the fact that so many of us want to “save” that outdoor moment is just a testament to the good, healthy mind benefits of being outside.
Tendency for better lighting outside leading to better photos also helps.
Yep; once it cools off we want to get back to photographing waterfalls; we have over 150 in our county, and we’ve only been to a few.
Wow! I’m so jealous- that’s so many! I think our county has… one, maybe two.
Some are easy hikes; others are difficult, and some are only accessible by boat. We’re in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, so we’re in a high waterfall concentration area; they drain into the 3 lakes in the county. Not much in the area in the way of civilization other than campus and some really cute little towns, but we have LOTS of beautiful scenery, wildlife and purple and orange sunsets
There have been some beautiful photos shared here, but I hope this thread doesn’t scare anyone off from sharing pics that aren’t magazine-worthy. I like seeing photos of projects people are working on (before and after), what they’re cooking, funny or cute things their pets did, or just things of general interest regardless of how (in)expertly photographed.
The home decor threads (not to mention @coralbrook’s projects), are filled with indoor photos .
Ok PEOPLE, I don’t know why the “harsh hit the fan” with my comment about so many outdoor photos! First of all I was talking about THIS thread. Second, it was an observation and a positive one - people gain a lot of satisfaction and visual pleasure from being outside.
In a world where people have been more recently inside and where people are known to not have the best health/wellness/fitness it is a PLEASURE to see people out exploring and loving the outdoors.
No worries. I totally get what you were saying and I thought it was both funny and true. I love this thread.
Can you share some context please?
My daughters and I went on a photo adventure over the summer a few years ago. We drove from Calgary to Waterton Lakes National Park-Glacier National Park-Yellowstone National Park-Teton National Park-our place in ID-Jasper-Banff-Lake Louise. The guys were on the road near the Prince of Wales Hotel in Waterton lakes National park where we were staying. The grizzlies I posted earlier were also on this trip along the Icefields Parkway in Canada.
