I really appreciate the sense of “happiness” shared via pictures in this thread.
Oops, I’ve probably been to that one too, but not since the early 1980s!
Balboa Park, Golden Gate Park, Washington Park (Portland and Seattle) - Japanese gardens everywhere!
ooh… just last night photographer hubby expressed an interest in going to Joshua Tree.
Joshua Tree is a wonderful place to see. D2 showed me pictures of a glamping Airbnb near Joshua Tree that a friend of hers is staying at this weekend. I told H I want to go stay there for a weekend this winter.
We really enjoyed Joshua Tree. I recognize the rocks in the pictures and recall my boys having fun climbing on some of them with me cautioning to watch for snakes before they put a hand or foot anywhere - doing my mom job.
These are so much fun every year.

Those are great. Thanks for sharing.
Those made me laugh out loud. Loved them all!
I’ve always wanted a merry-go-round with my name on it! (Full disclosure - I am not the Marilyn who donated the Endangered Species Carousel at the Living Desert Zoo in Palm Desert.)
When decorating the house, I decided that my mom’s old plastic poinsettia should go on the table with geraniums that she kept on her windowsill in her last few years. I’ve been tending them, and they’ve had two “summer recesses” in my yard.
40+ years ago when that was Vacation Village, my new boyfriend danced around a gazebo (likely long gone) singing Sound of Music’s “I am 17 going on 18, I’ll take care of you.” I thought either he’s gay or a keeper.
Turned out to be a keeper. We’ve been married 36 years.
