Those are very cute. What are shrinky dinks? (Off to Google in the meantime…)
Never mind, I found it. That is very cool. What do you do with them?
ETA: OH! Just saw an amazing pair of earrings made from this stuff.

I used to make those!! Love them!
(Anyone here a fan of Kate Seredy’s wonderful children’s books The Good Master and The Singing Tree? I remember a chapter about these types of Easter eggs in one of them).
You are very talented! I’m so impressed and thank you for sharing- all so beautiful.
@ChoatieMom , girl children are the target of the marketing of a million crafty type products. I don’t remember many that were marketed to boys. Maybe those dinosaur bone kits that they chiseled out of a block of dirt. My girls had shrinky dinks, beads and bracelets, fimo clay, those scratch off drawing sheets, origami kits, all kinds of markers, pens and other drawing and painting items, etc. They are in their twenties now, and are reliving their childhood and have started buying themselves those crafty items again.
But to answer your question, we don’t do anything with them! I put them in my little glass curio cabinet, but they are too small to really see. They are just little mementos of time together.
I have a whole huge plastic bin of their childhood drawings in our attic. I’m planning to take a few and have them printed on canvas, as some could pass for abstract art, lol.
Our son lives just outside Augusta. Lots of his neighbors rent their homes/rooms out during Master’s week. He bought his house from one of the Augusta National chefs who left his custom-built island behind. The kitchen in his house is pretty sweet.
There are some beautiful homes in that area. I love all the pines and old trees, if not the humidity.
Beautiful pictures. I am indeed very jealous, any other pictures you’d like to post, please do! And enjoy your week! I will be glued to my tv watching!
Thank you. It’s been a fun week with the ANWA and now The Masters. Did a quick swag and sandwich run this morning, and said hello to a few friends.Took the GoPro and snapped a few pics on my way out. You can only bring cameras Mon-Weds and with bad weather on the way I thought I would get the swag run out of the way early. Headed to Arnold Palmer Day at Wake Thurs and then back to Augusta. I’ll have to find the pics took last year with my DSLR.
Neighbor dropped by last night and gave us the beautiful centerpiece they had just won from the dinner. They’re leaving town and want us to enjoy it. I think it’s pretty and we rarely have flowers. Someone said it looks like a funeral or wedding (all white).
My all time favorite Easter card - found going through my mom’s estate a few years back and kept as a memento:
I am so jealous. We went to The Masters every year for many years, up until the Covid pause. We had tickets, but it was canceled. Then my in laws moved to assisted living so no place to stay … and the in laws’ friend whose tickets we used got dementia (we don’t know her kids, who ended up using the tickets). We miss the tournament, and we miss how fun the town is during the tournament. FIL recently passed away & MIL moved to be closer to her D. But if we get tickets through the lottery, we’ll find a place to stay somehow!
Here’s a blast from the past. Back when you could just show up and get a ticket.
I flew over Monday and did the swag and sandwich run and then back Thurs and Saturday. Nice seeing all the people back. Wished I had purchased more of those garden gnomes.
@Creekland, that is exactly the same card I just mailed out on Monday in our son’s Easter care package. My favorite is this one:
@kelsmom: I should hook you up with my son who just gave away his ticket. He lives just up the road from the Augusta National and gets a complimentary military ticket each year. Lot’s of houses/rooms in his neighborhood for people looking for lodgings that week.
For those that celebrate, from my paintbrush to you - Passover is a celebration of spring, birth and rebirth - with each new branch that grows on the tree of life, a new miracle happens. Wishing you a happy, safe, and healthy Passover!
I would like to share this photo of my dad today, his 85th birthday. This was a few years ago, but not that long. You can see my Longhorn roots go deep (that’s the UT Tower).
My daughter shared this pic of her dorm entrance with me the other day and I was super jealous as it was snowing here at the time. Ha.
Your dad is handsome, MaineLonghorn!
