No cat was harmed in the making of this painting - Last night I dipped my daughter’s cats paw into water (Kona) and placed it several times on watercolor paper, then I dropped in some color, to make this “Mother’s Day” card for her, from Kona. We’ve been cat-sitting the last couple of weeks as D is in the homestretch of her FIDM program and working like mad on several projects. I take her home today.
My sweet Mom, quite a few years ago, with my nephews and niece. She was so photogenic. We went through many boxes of photos last summer and literally found only one photo of her that wasn’t superb. It’s funny - I look a lot like her but I didn’t get the photogenic quality, ha.
@justamom - that’s such a cute idea (and great execution!)
@MaineLonghorn - your mom was beautiful and clearly just having so much fun down in the sand, mixing with the kids!
My H’s amaryllis blooming right now in San Diego. These are from the plant my grandma gave H 20 plus years ago.
We attended a wedding on Friday. I blurred out the topper which has the names of the bride and groom, but I thought this was such a gorgeous cake!
My girls decided to arrange a bouquet of flowers for me yesterday, they enjoyed the process.
Flowers are from my garden.
You’re squirrel friend seems to be giving you side eye. Very similar to when my kid was toddler, caught in the act, and would freeze in place, side eye me to see if I was still there.
@Marilyn - great picture.
Beautiful! They did a nice job!
A trick I learned from my sister is to cover the top of a wide vase like that with plastic wrap and then poke holes in it as you add the flowers. Keeps them standing up and in place. Much easier to arrange–can adjust heights to some extent also. Like using a frog for smaller arrangements.
My grand pup came to visit for the night! They will be back next weekend for longer. This is her first big adventure
Is that an oriole?
Yes, it’s the male. We’ve seen the female but my picture is terrible. We were very excited
Gorgeous! I get nothing but finches, cardinals, and doves at my feeder!
Lunar eclipse from last night
ETA: I cannot take credit for this picture. A good friend of mine who does amazing photography captured it. Sharing with his permission. He said it was a 4-hour span.
Thanks for sharing that, @TexasTiger2. We missed it.
