Our cottage we owned was about 20ish minutes south of Goodrich. It really is a beautiful area - the sunsets can’t be beat! It’s such a good representation of small town/village life in Canada.

Be sure to stop in Bayfield as well - and side trip to London or Stratford!

Morning pony kisses. Gemma is 2 1/2 months old now and starting “school.” She’s a good student so far, first day and all.

Checked out the nearby botanical garden yesterday. Found lots of photogenic pollinators.

And some gorgeous flowers. The effects of our extreme drought were very visible, however.

I recall a remark some time back that we don’t have good sunsets in CA. Here’s a picture from our hike that shows otherwise.

One of our favorite wines in King Estate Pinot Gris from the Willamette Valley. We’ve been close but not there yet.

Exactly half a moon over the sunset. I think it looks like someone did a hole punch in the sky.

Found these fruit mochi (kiwi, orange, watermelon, lime, fig, etc) in an Osaka suburb shopping mall. Colorful but probably not for me.

I don’t mind paying $3 to cross the lake when I get to enjoy such views!

A tiny red spotted newt my husband saw on a walk in our neighborhood. He said it was about an inch long. I looked it up and this is the terrestrial juvenile called a red eft. It can spend up to three years in this stage of development. The adult, below, is aquatic, a bit larger and drab green in color (photo not my own).
