I love my lens ball! This thread has reminded me that I haven’t used it once since we’ve moved states.

Honestly, I think a 35mm on manual settings is necessary. I am not familiar with the latest and greatest iphones, though - maybe they have aperture settings now?

Ok thanks! I’ll double check.

it might be ok - i just took a quick photo of something and my iphone successfully blurred the background (which is key)… so go for it!

Thank you so much for testing it!!

This was intriguing- I don’t have a lensball but one of my crystal paperweights is pretty clear. So I went out back and ran a quick trial with my iPhone 12 mini on auto. Fun!

Not that mine are great or anything, but all of my photos are taken with my iPhone.

Our pup - an Old English Bulldog (or Olde English Bulldogge officially, why, I have no idea, except someone wanted to be extra)

We woke up to snow on the ground for the second day in a row, and it was gone by lunch again. We went for a drive to the middle of nowhere and enjoyed the scenery. Want to take it all in before we move to New Orleans this summer. My husband was promoted today, so our time in New Mexico has been cut way short.

Lots of lovely open spaces in NM. our friends live in Los Alamos and Tucumcari. New Orleans is a very exciting and interesting place with lots of tasty food.

Southern Turkey has been on my mind this week due to the terrible earthquakes, so here’s a few photos I’ve taken there during my field research over the last decade.

Gorgeous cliffs - same hike.

One of many beaches.

Love this tree! There are others like it, but this one was easily accessible.

View of our current rental place’s relatively private endless beach - great for walking and a swim.

Take your horse for a swim day, along the relatively private beach.

View of S/DIL’s place where we were staying - gorgeous mountain views all around!

We have oodles more from snorkeling, diving, and wandering. This place is eye candy for nature lovers like us. Glad we have an extended time period here.

Plus, swimming in the BioBay was great, but make sure you go on or near a New Moon and take a mask to see it the best below water! Pics don’t work there… not with our camera anyway. It’s like little stars all over in the water.

Definitely not your typical CC house! What is the tent area on the right?

I assume you mean this:

And that’s the guest hut (named Jabba - Jabba the Hut). He’s still working on finishing it cobbing the outside, etc. It’s like an earthen tent. Right now it’s where we stayed our first week or so, but in the future he plans on using it more for storage and building a larger one for guests. His place is a work in progress with hopes to be fully finished (as a producing permaculture farm) in 5-7 years. They’re proud of doing essentially all the work themselves. We liked it far more than we thought we would TBH. I’d easily stay there again. It’s all off grid, but with bio-gas cooking, a flush compost toilet (boat toilet that goes to a composting area), an outdoor shower, and absolutely stunning views.

It’s a lot like camping, but as my son said, with a LOT more amenities than places where we often camp.

Here’s their house from the inside. We were playing a game of Architects (a 7 Wonders game) at the time and our Grandkitty jumped up to say hello.
