Seeing the Learning Disability discussion, I was wondering whether writing about my physical disability is a good idea.
Similar to the OP for the other discussion I won’t use the disability to explain my weak spots but how I dealt with living with it and how I overcame multiple obstacles throughout my life.
You can. Or you can mention it in Additional Information, and use the essay real estate for something different.
Just be sure it doesn’t turn into a “woe is me” type of essay – focus on how your disability helped turned you into a stronger, more self-confident (or whatever traits you have developed) person. The idea of the essay is not to elicit sympathy but to demonstrate traits that will make an admissions officer want to have you on campus.
Also agree with @intparent that if you don’t want to write the essay on this topic you can note it in the additional information section and/or ask your guidance counselor to briefly mention it in his/her recommendation.
Good luck!
Probably fits best in other information. However, if you do disclose, provide information relative to the school. If the school is the U of Minn for example, explain your experience and adaptations. So, rather than talk generally about what you have learned genrrally, white to the characteristics of each place. Get your documentation ready to submit to disability services.
