Hi.

Is this an undergrad 1 yr stat mech sequence?

I've been reading the lecture notes, and it seems quite intense, almost equivalent to the 8.333-8.334 graduate stat mech sequence at MIT.

Hi.

Is this an undergrad 1 yr stat mech sequence?

I've been reading the lecture notes, and it seems quite intense, almost equivalent to the 8.333-8.334 graduate stat mech sequence at MIT.

Based off of this ([Physics 127a - Fall 2010](Physics 127a - Fall 2010)), the only pre-req is the sophomore physics sequence, so it looks like this is indeed the undergrad stat mech class.

Also, the page directly links to the MIT 8.333 OCW, and both classes use the same texts (Kardar, Huang, etc.)

100 level classes are joint undergraduate/graduate classes. 127 can be taken junior year, though it may be more common to take it senior year since a physics major will also be taking 106 and 125 junior year.
