Has anyone taken Physics 7A with English or Zettl? I'd like to know how the instructors are before I register. =)

Zettl hands down.

what is Zettl, I know what English is

It's the instructor's name.

I am taking Zettl's Physics 7B right now and most of my friends took 7A with him last semester. His exams are challenging. The mean on the 2 midterms were around 75%. I just took his final yesterday and it was the hardest exam I have taken at Berkeley after two semesters here. Homeworks take 1-2 hours per week for me, and are not very hard, but exams are just at another level.

I don't know the other professor.

75% mean is not bad at all for Physics 7 series. Most other professors have their mean around 65%, some even as low as 50%

LOL. Yeah, 75% mean on midterms is quite high for Physics 7.

I thought the final was pretty easy...I had seen Problem 1 before (dont know where). Problem 2 was ez. Problem six was on the hw. Problems 3 and 7 were very doable.

Problems 4 and 5 were tough for me, but if you just do the logical method, the graders give you half points at least.

It is probably going to have a similar mean to the midterms. A very fair final.

Zettl's class is quickly filling up, especially the decent discussion sections. It looks like English is a postdoc. Is this perhaps the first class he's taught fully, and is that something to be wary of? Does anyone know what to expect from English?

damn, I was planning to sign up for Physics 7A in Phase II. Seems like all the freshman beat me to it.....arghhhhhhh
