Physics B... Help please

I'm currently in "honors physics" and chose to take the AP Physics B exam. The I'm in doesnt cover a lot of the material on time such as modern physics and waves, light, optics. It doesnt cover thermodynamics, fluids, and some of E&M at all. It just takes the New York State Regents curriculum and teaches it at a college level. I've barely done anything to study... I did a little bit of fluids. Can someone provide advice I can use to conquer the exam? I really want a 5 lol, and I feel I have the potential to get one. It's just a lot of stuff to learn between now and then. Thanks.

Get a copy of Princeton's Cracking the AP Physics Exam and start covering topics quickly. I'm also in "honors physics" but I've only the Nuclear Physics left and a little bit of magnetism. How much do you still have to cover by the way?

So basically the honors physics is nothing like it?

We're just starting waves. We're going pretty slow, so I basically have to cover what we will be covering, plus more. Anyone use the Barrons book? Is it any good?

wow youre gonna have the hell of a time, but I wish you luck

I also reccomend the barrons book if you want to nail multipe chapters over 1 weekedn

PRisM, so Barron's is very good for quick review? Why, are the chapters short and easy to read through? I have PR and 5 steps to a 5. I'm thinking of reading 5 Steps cover to cover and doing many questions from both books as review. Does anyone else have any advice?

I'm in an actual AP Physics B course. Though last year, jsph89, I was in the same course as you (though in my school it's called Physics Enriched). I got a 98 on the regents (highest in my school)! I know this won't make you feel better at all, but while I though I was GREAT last year, Physics this year has been.... a heck of a ride; a real struggle. I think that w/o much effort I'll definitely score a 3, and if I review like I said I would, I'm definitely guaranteed a 4 (though I'm shooting for a 5). So we'll see.

If anyone else has some advice, please PM me or post here!! Thanks and good luck to you all!

-Jon :)

I wouldn't say quick.

Hmm.... well I've got a number of other APs to prepare for, so I'm only willing for the most time-efficient methods. I've heard Barron's isn't that great of a text anyway...

Any suggestions (please refer to my previous post). Thanks in advance!
