Physics Department?

How does Cornells physics program compare to somewhere like MIT or CalTech?

thank you. sweet, all the schools im applying to are on that list so that's a relief that i picked the right schools for my major.

Anecdotal experience: I'm being taught by particle physicists, as are all freshman engineers in physics 1112. The professors are so smart and they are contributing to things like the LHC or to Brane theory. It's incredible. And keep in mind, this is just a freshman course in mechanics. My physics prof. got a B.S. at Caltech, and a Ph.D. at MIT, and did postdoc at Cornell. So yeah... I'd say they are pretty comparable, very close.

yea thats exactly what im looking for. schools that have professors THAT qualified, especially in those areas since thats what im interested in. i just did a presentation to my schools branch of the science nhs on the LHC and about the things they hope to discover with it and its all so amazing.
