Physics Honors or AP Physics (B)

Ok, so Im in high school and I eventually would like to take physics. *Idk if this makes a dif, but i wanna be able to go to an Ivy League school) In my school, the earliest you can take physics is as a junior. But you can take AP or honors. But, by the time im a junior, I'll be in Pre-Calc Honors. Is that good ebough for AP Physics B? Or should I just stick with honors?
Few little things to know though:

1) math is NOT my favorite subject, but I will get an A, but I have to work for it. (it's not like I have to kill myself to do it though).

2) The teacher, i've heard, is REALLY nice and knows what he is talking about, but just isnt very good at teaching it

3) I am super organized, and do not procrastinate, most of the time

What do you think???

I took AP Physics B as a sophomore. I’d already taken 9th grade honors physics (a basic intro physics class, my school does things in backwards order) and algebra II…the math you learn in precalc and calculus is completely unnecessary for the curriculum (the most complicated thing you will do is vectors, which is easy enough as long as you can press the sine or cosine button on your calculator and use common sense). My teacher was horrible and my class was full of unmotivated seniors. We never did any work, and the class was a total joke. I got a 5 on the exam with little extra preparation. I suggest going for the AP. Get the princeton review cracking the AP book too and you’ll be golden.

Thank you!

The curriculum is virtually the same for both, so you might as well.

i was faced with this same dilemma a year ago and chose AP Physics over honors. As in your case, the teacher also knows what he’s talking about but isn’t so great at teaching the material. I think that you should just take AP Physics because you’ll learn more and honors physics will be pretty difficult as well so you might as well get a low A in AP than a low A in honors. Since you want to go into physics, you should definitely just challenge yourself and go with AP. It’s a hard course, but if you’re willing to put effort into it, you should do fine :)

That is because Physics B is not calc-based, Physics C is.

^Exactly. You’ll be fine.
