ok I am currently a student at American River College in Sacramento, California I am a philosophy major and am working on an associate’s in social science as well; I recently was looking at course transfer requirements and such for University of San Francisco that is where I would like to go as it is a local and from what I understand good Catholic university that offers a theology program I would like to double major in philosophy and theology once I transfer. On the other hand I was thinking about minoring in physics or astronomy once I transfer out of pure interest I will not be able to start any of the classes while I am at the community college due to the fact when I enrolled I tested into remedial arithmetic for math(I was a terrible student in high school) I am currently in pre-algebra from what I understand assuming I don’t fail any classes I will be able to make it through Calculus 1 by the time I finish my transfer units and degree here at the community college would the university allow me to minor in a field I have no classroom experience in once I transfer or would this be a bad idea?
on the same note the science minor is only out of interest I know for a fact that I would like to double major in philosophy and theology because I am looking into seminary and well those are probably most valuable subjects in that sense when going in that direction.
You have time to decide. You won’t be able to take any physics courses that are suitable for a minor until you get to take Calculus I. See how the math courses go and then make a decision.
