Physics Question Please Help Ahhh

Ok so I have been trying to solve this problem for hours, and it just doesn't make sense to me.

If anyone wants to help me, the part I am struggling with is PART A of question 942---> http://www.dsusd.k12.ca.us/users/edwardw/waluskas/1994BAPrv.htm

Am I missing something? I tried setting force=centripetal force, and solving for v in variables...but can I actually do that?!?

ANY help would be muuuuuuch appreciated thanks! :)

Conservation of energy:
Uinitial+Kinitial=Ufinal+Kfinal (U=potential energy, K=kinetic energy)

mgh=.5mv^2
h=R; v=sqrt(2gR)

Thanks you're my HERRRRRRRRRRRRRRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i hope you didn't seriously spend hours on that , not because that'd make you dumb but just because that would stink
