Hi,
I am a junior and targeting Math/CS/Engineering programs at colleges like GeorgiaTech, UT(Austin), UIUC, Michigan with reaches at MIT, Cornell, UPenn, Dartmouth. I took subject SAT’s last year and scored 800’s in Math I and Math II; a 750 in Physics. Should I retake Physics to see if I can improve it ?
Note: because of an extra curricular and AP courses, I will be reading most of SAT Physics topics again anyway - questions is if I score lower than last time (<750) will have an option of choosing the test I want to send or both scores. Also how does a SAT Physics score can impact at highly selective college admissions.
TIA.
Just for clarity. All those schools are reaches, especially if you are OOS.
I personally wouldn’t take a lot of time to study and retake. If you don’t get in, it won’t be due to that score. But if you are doing the work anyway, it wouldn’t hurt.
@intparent thanks. I agree about the reaches…all those are reaches…I thought of adding that, my current plan is to apply to more in the first group; among the second group - I may apply to one or two depending on my final scores/tours etc. I have yet to make my actual list - but based on my research/tour/scores, would be super happy to get into any one of them while recognizing that all of them are reaches as of now.
I agree with @intparent and also point out that since M1 and M2 are duplicative exams, there is no point in sending your M1 score (there was also no point in you taking it, but what’s done is done).
