Physics?

What is applied physics or engineering physics and what differentiates it from the engineering programming? How do the jobs for applied physics also differ from those of engineering branches?

An engineering degree is specific to a particular field while a degree in physics is broader and touches nearly all the engineering disciplines. With an Engineering Physics or Applied Physics degree, you are sort of in between these two endpoints. You get the breadth of physics with a focus on engineering. As for jobs, with a physics degree and certainly with an Engineering Physics or Applied Physics degree, you can compete for technical jobs much like an engineer. Many companies appreciate physics majors because of the breadth and because they figure they can teach you what you need to know about the job. In general, physics majors have high employment and high salaries.
