Pillow Talk -- need help selecting best brand

In the market for 2-4 (depending on price) King sized pillows. We have the best deals (coupons, discounts, miles) available through 2 retailers: Bed Bath & Beyond; Home Depot. Has anyone bought king sized pillows recently (in past 1-2 years) from either store and loves them? Don’t need hypoallergenic or memory foam. Thanks all. Good night.

Yikes, these have gone up in price, but we’ve been very happy with them

If you have a Costco near you, just go see what they are j person.
We don’t use king sized pillows on our king sized bed, just more of the regular sized pillows. Is there a reason you want the longer pillows (comfort, fits pillowcases, etc?)

Isn’t it really a matter of personal preference? Some people like flatter pillows. Some people like big fluffy pillows. Some like memory/foam pillows. Some like down. Some keep pillows a long time. Others get new ones frequently.

My wife has had the same pillow since she was a kid. Like 40+ years. Its a bag with 35 rotted feathers and some dust mites in it. But she swears by it. Always travels with it. Doesn’t take up much more room than a pillowcase at this point though. I “accidently” wash it from time to time. And it gets run through x-rays at airports from time to time.

While on this topic, I’d be happy for any leads on a very soft, easily malleable pillow that you can fold or re-shape to suit your needs. This is not the primary pillow for support but a secondary pillow. We have some awesome super old feather pillows that served this purpose for decades. Absolutely everything new we have tried is way too full and maintains its shape too much. Tried a couple well reviewed down pillows on a lot of best of lists and they seemed to be full of air and would literally r-inflate when you compressed them. I want the opposite of that.

This is my H’s pillow too! He uses it as an eye mask and says the lumps can be arranged to perfectly fit over his eyes. Every so often, when feathers start to leak out, he sews it in another pillow case.

Cuddledown. Mine are relatively new so I can’t attest to what happens when you wash them, but so far they are perfect for what you are describing. Not cheap, but I am so tired of the Bed Bath/Costco pillows which last for a year and then look bedraggled and ratty…

I have neck problems and I have literally bought over 20 different pillows in the last few years, trying to find the best one. I recently got one on Amazon at the recommendation of a friend - it’s been the best one ever. It’s so good, I checked a bag so I could bring it along traveling out of state for a college tour.

It comes with a bag of extra stuffing - I didn’t use it, I actually took some out.

Omigosh I absolutely love my king pillow from BBB, I think it’s this one:

Of course it’s totally subjective, but I recommended this one to D, she recommended it to a friend and they both love it too. YMMV

Ah interesting question - I thought you were supposed to have king sized pillows on a king sized bed - my standard pillows look too small. Thanks for the link – they look really nice!

Interesting – “down alternative” is made of what exactly? It doesn’t flatten out? Thanks for the link.

My Pillow is good for that, because the foam is all torn up inside and you can really mold it to your wishes. I opened mine up and took a bunch of the foam out too.

Nope doesn’t flatten out at all. I don’t know how to describe what it’s made of but it’s poofy and soft but not too poofy. I’ve tried a lot of pillows including down ones and this is my fave by far.

I developed some neck issues and was on a hunt for a more moldable pillow for better support. This one has turned out to be pretty good. It’s soft yet firm, holds its shape, has a soft cover and is made with shredded memory foam.

I swore by down/feather pillows for years until I started having serious allergies. Then I switched to LL Bean’s down alternative pillows (made by DownLite), but the quality seems to have gone downhill. Now I sleep on Coop Home Good’s shredded memory foam Eden pillow, which I really like for adjustability and minimizing neck pain. This frugal person finds them pricey but worth it.

My Pillow won’t survive the wash… just an fyi. If you have seasonal allergies and need a pillow which can handle agitation a few times a year, keep looking.

I just toss our pillows periodically and buy new ones. Normally, I look to see what’s available at Costco or sometimes Ross or Sam’sClub. I can generally find something.

Thanks. Which type? Their website shows a bunch of styles and fills. In the pics on the website they all look way, way too full for our purposes. If you can’t literally wrap it around your head like a small blanket where it dips around the sides of your head or fold it in half, it’s too full and not malleable enough. If it restores itself to any kind of pre-set shape, it is too full. That’s where we have had issues – all the pillows have been way too full and rigid in their shape.

Thanks. Tried one a while back but you could really feels the shape of the individual foam pieces which didn’t work for us.

Look at the Cambric King in soft (you choose your density…)

Looks like what I have is out of stock, but the Cambric appears to be very close… and the choice of density means you can decide how much fill works for your needs.

We are pillow hogs. It doesn’t look wrong to not use king sized pillows if you have six or seven standard sized ones overlapping at the head of your bed.
