i'm having a hard time deciding between pitt and penn state. I feel as if I want to double major in advertising/pr and information sciences. I like Pitts campus better. But Pitt doesn't have an ad major just comm. Penn State's college of communications is accredited, so I feel I have more job opportunities (esp in NYC which is where I want to end up)
But also, I am not a huge party person or sports fan. at all. So I feel I'd fit in better at a city campus such as Pitt.

But I'm not sure which is more important, the academics or being comfortable at the campus?

Ultimately, comfort I think is the most important. Both are good schools and you won’t make a wrong choice, but you never get to repeat your experience as an undergraduate and you want to be somewhere you’ll be happy for four years.

That said, Pitt’s School of Information Science is one of the top ones in the country (#10 in US News), that is different than Pitt’s Communications program in the School of Arts & Sciences, so I’m not sure which you are referring to. They are different fields. Every program at Pitt is accredited. PSU’s business school is probably considered a little better, but both are ranked. Being located in a city, it might be easier to do internships or work part-time in your field of interest while still taking classes at Pitt.
