Pitzer kids and the consortium

No it isn’t. As long as it has direction and you aren’t like a senior trying to make a major out of the classes you’ve taken it’s generally not difficult. And as long as it doens’t overlap too much with existing majors at Pitzer and the Claremont Colleges.

I visited pitzer a while ago and loved it. i was wondering however, why is there a low retention rate

I believe our retention rate is in the 90’s…Some of the info regarding what you are looking at is out of date.

But if you love it, then you should definitely try and spend the night, to get the real feel of campus, and make your own judgement. It’s all about what you put into your college experience and what you want to get out of it. And you shouldn’t allow our retention rate to deter you from Pitzer.

one more question, I know Pitzer grads tend to be more focused on more non-profit/voulenteer work, but are there also opportunities for those that say, want to major in econ and do consulting work or go to business school? i know this is more of CMC’s forte, but I really don’t feel as if I would click with their school vibe.

It may not be the norm, but it is also not that out of line; many students are interested in such jobs.

As an example, this past year Deloitte Consulting did a recruiting/info session at Pitzer, the presenter being a Pitzer Alumna. Economics is a very popular major as well, so you certainly would not be alone in these interests.

What are the placement exams new students have to take during orientation? I know that there are language placement exams, but are there ones for Math and English? Thanks!
