Placement test

Hi, I was wondering if i should take the placement test to not take MAT 150 which is basically precalculus I think. I’m a freshman in college and I took precalculus in highschool but I’m not sure if I should take the placement test. The class MAT 150 is also an online course and I have never taken an online class before so I’m not sure if it would be difficult.

Please if you have any advice tell me.

Thank you,

Take the placement test. If it shows that you know the material, then you do not need to take the remedial math course before taking calculus that is presumably required for your major.

Having to take remedial courses consumes schedule space that you could otherwise use for more interesting courses, and could result in delayed graduation at additional cost to you.

You can also try the old final exams for your college’s MAT 150 course. You can also try these on-line quizzes that can tell you if you need to review some topics before taking calculus (or the placement test at your college):

TL;DR: Take it. Take as many stuffs as you can pass.

That’s it.
Study for it a bit before taking the exams though so it’s still somewhat fresh in your head.

Thank you!

has anyone done the placement test in Orange Coast College? If so, could you please tell me if the English assessment test had an essay?

Thank you!
