places for interesting food?

since i haven't really had the opportunity to check out the food in syracuse, but i'll be attending in the fall, can anyone let me know about some of the less well known restaurants in the city?

yes, i know about Varsity, Dinosaur BBQ, Pastabilities, etc. and i tried a few of those restaurants when toured last year. what i'm really interested in is authentic ethnic food (please, no Mexican. I'll save that for when I'm home in the West). hole-in-the-wall and mom and pop restaurants would be excellent to hear about and i'm willing to travel to the more dangerous parts of town to get them if it's worth it.

also, is anyone aware of good bakeries? finally getting out of Colorado, so it's time to try out some bread which hasn't been destroyed by altitude. :)

There are no really good authentic foods that I know of except for the ones that you have mentioned but I believe there is a really good cake place called everything cakes or something…I’m not so sure about the name but the place is up on campus foods, and there is decent chinese at oriental kitchen but I think there is some better place I just cant remember right now
