Places to apply

Hello everyone! I am having trouble deciding about where to apply and I was wondering if any of you had suggestions. Junior year I was diagnoised with dylexcia use my bad spelling in this post). I know it was SUPER late for it to be diagnosed, but I was always a hard worker and my grades stayed at atleast a b. I have always takend honrs and AP classes but junior year my grades went down significantly and thats when we realized something was wrong. I always get Bs in really hard classes but now that I have gotten the right accomodations most of my grades are As (in three APs and two honors). I am upset becuase I know that if this problem had been found sooner then I would have been able to have accomodations and get better grades. My SATS are 1860 (without any extra time or accomodations and I am taking them again). My recomentdations are very strong, I have one from my principal ( I have meetings with him weekly becuase I am president of student council) and a teacher whom I have known for years, and then a math teacher whose class I got all As in. I have very strong ECs. I am president of the student council and I run alot of events. I have started the enviromental club and welcoming commitee for new students. I also do a Model UN and model senate each year. I have been a peer buddy for best buddies for four years. I also have been on varsity XC for all my four years (my team is ranked number one in the state) and I was involved in the musicals and track (varsity). I also do ballet 2-3 times per week. I won a national award for a organnization that I founded, and was given money by the government to fund it. I also attended many leadership progams and have done habitat for humanity. I have done a dance intensive over the summer for two years, and this year I plan on taking classes at boston ballet. I have other various awards and clubs. I am really worried becuase I feel like I dont' have the grades but I want to apply to a top university. I am not sure if I should tell schools about this, and hope they will take that in consideration when they look at my GPA. Now that I have all of this figured out I am getting good grades and I wish they could have seen more of that in my past years. Should I tell them and show the documentation? I try so hard in school and I know that now that my efforts will be reflected in my grades, I just fear its too late! so I was wondering if any one would think I should apply to a top university? or if I should take a year at a not as competitive school and do really well and then transfer to a more competitive school. I am really nervous as to where I will get accepted! if you have any suggestions or other advice please share!!

If you are below the average gpa for the school you are applying to, then you have nothing to lose by documenting your problem and telling them how you overcame it and why you are a good fit for the school. They can't let you in if you do not apply! Good luck.
