I’ve been looking on the Plan ii site on the UT Admissions page and it says all these suggestions about how to make the essay great. But which essay is it? Is it the essay’s you are required to submit(A,B,C,D) or is it a totally SEPERATE essay that you do ONLY for plan ii? I assumed they use your admission essay to determine honor programs…

Here are the criteria for admission. It is the essays you submit for your main application plus a personal statement.
@gettingschooled There is no loss to submitting a third essay? They score your best two, so I guess it’s worth a shot.
So plan ii does care about GPA. Interesting considering the general admissions takes no care for it.
What I found with Plan II admissions is that they are generally looking for interesting (not just high academic achievers), well-rounded, mature students, people a little out of the box as evidenced by the essays and how they have spent their time (expanded resume) and achievements, engagements. Academic excellence–GPA, test scores, academic, liberal artsy academic achievements, engagements–are all considered in their weighting/evaluations, along with the other factors like essays. The admissions process is conducted independently and outside of the UT Austin Admissions Office process, so they can look at other factors of candidates. Read ALL of the Plan II section on the UT website. A lot can be gleaned from each section, including advice on the expanded resume. Good luck!
@EngPII Would you mind reading one of my essays and just give back general feedback?
@EngPII I’m almost done with Topic A, but when I finish could you possibly read it?
@TheAvidSeeker, you can PM me.
for the plan 2 specific essay (about past experiences relating to the honors program) is it kind of like a “why plan 2 essay?” or is it just “describe your educational background that has led you to our core curriculum/liberal arts program”?
