I would say a good shot, but it is Wharton. The hedge fund experience seems to be a huge boost because Wharton loves actual experience. You definitely are a strong candidate.

Dear student,

As requested, I incorporated your scores, GPA, leadership, legacy status, and extracurriculars into a systematically devised function of calculatory means that I developed to precisely calculate percent chance of admission to various universities in the US and abroad. The results are as follows (these are the percent chances that you will be accepted at the below named institutions of higher educatory education):

Wharton ED: 47.522%

Please note that these are only derived from my own personal formula which seems to accurately predict admissions chances pretty well. Hope that helps!

someoneee has too much time on their hands haha

lol no I actually saw NewStudent do this on some other chance threads so I asked him to chance me which he was kind enough to do... I just really want to know what his formula is :P

i think you have pretty good chances
great scores
your internship at a hedge fund will probably help your chances,,you show a lot of interest in finance
good chance at ed, but i agree that leadership is lacking a bit

pretty sure he made it up

haha. cool!

is the "it" referring to the internship because why would I lie about it if I want honest chances?

I think you have a fantastic shot, with your almost perfect SATs, ACT, grade, and you have passion in business, which will probably resonate very will with Wharton!

if anyone is still even looking at this thread, would you guys have liked my chances for M&T if I applied because I was really considering it...

I really think it would be a big stretch if you applied M&T. The big boost for you is the legacy status. Your scores are just average for Wharton applicants. I've seen applicants with higher board scores and all 5's in AP's and still get rejected. Your community service hours are weak if you don't exceed 150 hours. The internship you had is OK but it is widely known that any significant internships for HS students are through family connections unless you produced some tangible results like making $$$ profits for the firm.

I think the "it" sleepingbeauty was referring to was the acceptance rate formula used by NewStudent12

leadership please

I'm absolutely in love with NewStudent12's ability to predict your chances to three decimal places! Now that's precision. Also:

also i talked to my tour guide at penn and he said that when you get rejected from your first choice program it usually puts you in the upper echelon of applicant bc it shows ambition.

Just wanted to say that tour guides are NOT reliable sources of legitimate information. They memorize a few figures and fun facts, and the rest is up to the individual. They're reliable sources of a student's perspective on classes, people, and campus life, but any of their numbers could be wrong and they definitely don't have any more insight into admissions than any other student at Penn.

why was my chance thread brought back up...
