The school doesnt rank but I’m deffinetly in the top 5%

BumpBumpBump

Are you applying financial aid?
If you are, then for what colleges?

You’ve applied to some very tough colleges, schools where grades are just the first step towards getting you considered. In general, even Americans applying to these schools end up being chosen for their activities outside of the classroom once they have the required stats.

Firstly I didn’t apply for financial aid. Secondly I know I don’t have all that many ec’s but they certainly are better than most other applicants from romania or this part of europe.

Also if it helps you get a better picture I accumulated my community service hours by volunteering at an orphanage and a nursing home for old people.

bump and bump

With no aid needed, I do tying you have a good shot at Berkeley.

^ Agree with 2college2college. You have good EC’s but unfortunately a 3.81 GPA and 2080 SAT will not be overlooked by the top colleges.

I agree that the sat’s are low but is a unweighted gpa of 3.81 that bad?

It is a fact that in Europe high grades are rare. The most european educational systems are against the inflation rate. The class of 2010 of my high school (the class that graduated the previous year) had an average GPA of 3.3!!! By rhe way 55% get into the most prestigious school in the nation. 7 went directly to med school, 10 to law school and 11 to engineer school. And 82.5% percent of the class went in university (top + community colleges ect.) A great part was excellent students, yet a lot of them had a GPA of 3.5.

My point is that in Europe a B has a great value. A is for the top 1-5% EXCLUSIVELY. There are other letters as well, B C D… and universities are aware of that.

In your case I believe that US colleges will take into account that you may came from a country or a school with more strict policies about grade distribution.

Good Luck!

I am from Eastern Europe too (see my name…)

Thank you all for replying, but could some one please tell me wath chances do I have for each university.
