Haha, thanks Redroses I guess. A lot of our confusions could have been cleared up early on if you read my posts (I wrote top 10% on the very first post/ V or Salutatorian at this school, if GPA from current school is looked at only)

Anyways, PEOPLE PEOPLE PEOPLE. I still want chances - as you may have noticed I have like 7 EA schools on my list and I obviously cannot apply to that many.

I’m applying to the UK, US, and a candidate for the IB so I have to keep my grades up all year for predictions.

So here is my school list again:
UPenn: Dual Major: Jerome Fisher Management and Technology ED*
Single Major: SEAS ED*
MIT EA*
Michigan EA *
Notre Dame EA
Caltech EA
Tulane EA
Chicago EA
Oxford University (Engineering, Economics, and Management)*

Cooper Union*
Harvard * (Legacy)
Yale
Princeton
Stanford*
Carnegie Mellon
Cornell
John Hopkins
Duke *
Vanderbilt

schools I’m really interested in

Please refer to the first post for stats. Thanks :D

I’m applying to the UK, US, and a candidate for the IB so I have to keep my grades up all year for predictions. Applying to like 7 schools EA, which is what a lot of people apply to in total, isn’t a realistic option.

Or in a more detailed description of what I’ll be doing on or before November 1st: IB 4000 word paper on the 12th, national merit essay on the 13th, Oxbridge applications due on the 15th, more IB stuff (we have this thing where we submit all work to be graded by IB moderators all year long and it counts toward our grade), research paper that must be submitted for publication, research that needs to be sent in, yada yada yada.

Anyways, this appears to be futile - I’ve only received posts from 2 users despite getting more than 300 hits. Really college confidential, I’m interested advice, or chance, or even cross-examination, and still I get almost no responses? Whatever- I guess I’ll just have to shell out hundreds of dollars for college books and **** because I get next to no support in a school that is completely focused on sending student to the UK.

lol i don’t think you should be worried
if only 10% of your int’l school go to ivies and you have grades good enough to be valedictorian (you’re probably within the range then right?), and came from exeter, you should be fine. i go to a prep school so i know that our system of grades and ranking are different. exeter kids are marked out of 11 so gpa is vastly different, i’m sure you’re fine. although i have no idea what you mean by a 3.33 then.

seriously, by applying to penn with a great rec from a penn professor is such a hook! universities looove research. and it’ll be fine esp b/c you are binding to SEAS. (which i don’t understand since you said it was your dream to go to wharton, so why didn’t you single ED to there instead?)

you’ll be fine for michigan EA. i don’t know about MIT EA though.
i think you’ll have a good friday this week
good luck!

btw i think UC berkely engineering is probably pretty good but i don’t know if you’d wanna go west coast (i know i don’t)
