Hey guys! I'm thinking of applying ED to UPenn or to Stanford. I like Stanford more, but I feel like I would be wasting my early. Penn has a 4% acceptance rate for regular to engineering, and a 25% acceptance rate early for the whole school. It would be a lot less risky to apply early to Penn, but I like Stanford more.

Do I have a realistic shot at Stanford, or should I just ED to Penn?

I think if you like Stanford more, you should apply ED to Stanford-- you would be playing it safe if you applied to UPenn ED but I think you will be fine getting accepted to top schools(like UPenn) RD.

You have a high chance of getting into UPenn if you ED, so I would recommend that over an ED to Stanford.Better to be safe than to lose out on both schools

It’s going to be difficult, it’s a reach for anyone, but you stand a good chance. Work on your EC’s (think of other thing), and you’ll have a very decent shot (which is very good for these schools)

Stanford and Princeton seem to be reach schools, but the rest I would say you have a really good chance! You’re president of two of your extracurricular, which is awesome, but maybe try like two more?

Both Stanford and Penn are a bit of a reach, but your chances are better at Penn. As others have mentioned, you should try to bolster your ECs, if you can. Also, your essays will be critical to getting an acceptance letter.

Which school to apply to depends on your preferences, but if you are close to indifferent, I think your odds would be better if you apply to Penn. I would really recommend that you visit the campuses before you decide. They are both outstanding, but one or the other may appeal to you personally.
