Please Chance Me! 3.0 GPA and 1650 SAT Score with lots of extra curriculars

Hello All,
I am a pretty unique student. I go to a very tough college preparatory school where all of the classes are AP or harder so my GPA should be viewed higher (hopefully). I also do tons of extracurriculars and I feel like I have much more to offer than my GPA shows. Here are my activities below:

Jobs:
Summer Intern At Law Firm
Photographer and Personal Assistant For Company

Volunteer Work:
Food Bank 144 hours. I go 3 hours a week. I am the lead volunteer there.

Assistant Middle School Girl's Soccer Coach
Volunteer in Peru and Costa Rica 80 hours worth of work.

Extracurriculars:
JV Soccer
Varsity Track and Field

Newspaper Club

Leadership:
Began Service Club at my school

Awards:

Geographic Location: Washington State

Colleges:
Western Washington University

UPS
Simmons

University of Oregon
Mount Holyoke
Bryn Mawr
Goucher
Ursinus
Lafayette
Sarah Lawrence
Skidmore.

just because a class is supposedly as hard as an AP doesn’t mean colleges are going to treat as one. There going to see it as a regular class on your transcript and treat it like any other regular class in the US.

@sd9754‌ is right. Also, the 1650 SAT score is telling. If you had a 3.0 and a 2000+ SAT score, then colleges might attribute your lower GPA to your school’s difficulty, but since you SAT score is also pretty low, they probably won’t.

Alright, if you think so, what do you think my chances are?

probably will have a tough time getting into University of Oregon

Ok, how about the others?

Hi there Tenstudent,
I congratulate you on having survived a tough high school, been involved in a lot of activities, and also on selecting a good range of safer colleges for your list. Unfortunately, colleges don’t give as much weight to the difficulty of courses as one might think, in my opinion. It will count against you if it’s obvious that you took easy classes, but if you take difficult classes the selective colleges still want to see high grades in those classes. However, your experience at a very difficult prep school will put you in a great position to excel in college level work. College will probably seem easy to you in comparison while others are struggling. It looks to me like you’ve chosen a good range of colleges that are reach and some that are safer; I don’t know enough about each one to comment on which ones are a match, but I think Sarah Lawrence, Mount Holyoke, and Bryn Mawr are reaches. I would guess that some of your state schools are match or safe bets, but I don’t know enough about them all, being from the other coast. It looks like a balanced list to me though. Good luck!

Western Washington University: Low match
Seattle Pacific U: Low match
UPS: Low match/Match
Simmons: Low match
Mills: Match
University of Oregon: Match
Mount Holyoke: Reach
Bryn Mawr: Reach
Goucher: Low match/Match
Ursinus: Low match
Lafayette: High reach
Sarah Lawrence: Reach
Skidmore: Reach

Thank you so much everybody for all of the comments! I am taking the SAT both in May and June. I hope to get a better score. :)
