u of michigan - accept
uc berkeley - reject

kwu can u explain your answers please?

Not definite. Just guesstimates from experience.

Harvard rejects a vast number of the 27,000+ people who apply every year. Bank on one. Princeton is generous to Asian-Americans with high SAT scores and good grades, so have a shot there. Same with Penn, Cornell, and Columbia, but you'll have a slightly better chance at those schools. It's the same case with Harvard as it is for Stanford. You don't have the major awards, exams, and competitions to give you a decent chance at MIT. You'll have luck with Northwestern. UChicago, despite having a high acceptance rate, favors a certain kind of candidate. Duke, you'll have not much trouble with. WashU likes to play the numbers by waitlisting or flat out rejecting high stat candidates. UMich is a state school I'm not entirely certain about. The acceptance rate to UCB for out-of-state candidates is slim-to-none.

Alright? Write good essays and you'll have a shot.
Also, I will not get into Harvard, because I have already applied and received my decision =)
Maybe for law school.

lol where did u get in?

bumping this thread

dude how many chance threads have u done so far. not that many people will chance u unless if u make a thread like Praying4Stanford. uve gotten a lot of chances from people so i think the only thing u can do is apply to the colleges u want to go and pray u get in.

i cant help but to agree with kwu

graduated this yr. had friends with 2330, 2380, 2360 on SATs, perfects on all SAT2's, and excellent stats like yourself. and they're all going to their safety schools.. none of them got into IVY's.. its tough man.. just apply where you want to, add a few more schools you're positive you'll get into, and roll the dice of life

i can't decide which school to do ED

bumping this thread

Dont worry - when they say you are reject at HYP, that doesn't mean anything. You have the same chance as anyone else at HYP and the same chance of getting accepted. It just means that since the acceptance rates are so low, everyone should count on being rejected.

You got a chance at HYP, just about a 8-10% chance, aka acceptance rate

stop making new chance threads.

shut the hell up stupid kid

I agree with MY-Democrat in that everyone should pretty much count on being rejected. There are so many good candidates that they choose several randomly. There are those really top students who do research/are a mini-celebrity in their town that they do get in. For the rest who are heavily involved with excellent stats and are great candidates, it depends on luck. So, you should apply definitely, but remember to keep some back up schools you love (to prepare for the worst, that way it will be a win-win situation no matter what :)).

This is absolutely irrelevant. You need to show through your essays that you are a special and introspective human being. Also, high SAT I scores are indicative of a privileged socioeconomic background, and the SAT Subject Tests can be easily prepared for.

I'll be going to Amherst College next year.

Chill out noob, an attitude like that will never get you into Harvard. Do you want chancing from people who actually got into HYPSM or not? If you do, I'd recommend being nice to them.
