<p>You’re getting rejected. You’ll never get into a college.</p>
<p>What you have now and an unweighted 4.0 for two more years taking your schools hardest classes, going past HS math/science at a local college, winning national level math/science awards and competitions, going to RSI, being top 2 in your class and a 2300 plus SAT will put you in the running.</p>

<p>Caltech’s very hard to get into. I got waitlisted and eventually rejected even though I had a 4.0 unweighted GPA (4.46 weighted), 5’s on the AP Calc AB/BC exams, qualified to USAMO and other national competitions, twice won divisions in the Natl. Scrabble Championship.</p>
<p>Right now, since you’re a freshman, it’s quite early to tell. But do realize that Caltech will almost certainly reject the 4.0 GPA, 2300 SAT student who has nothing extraordinary on his application.</p>
