I go to a private school in Boston, MA. Here are my academic stats
SAT1 - 2200 ; Math -760; CR- 730; Writing - 710
SAT2 - MATH2 - 780; Spannish - 700; will take Bio/M in June
GPA : My school does not do cumulative GPA OR ranking but I am in top 25% with advanced courses.
In junior year I am taking BC Calc; US history, AP Bio; AP Spannish;
senior year: Linear Algebra, AP English; AP Chem; Advanced middle eastern history
I am varisty track since my freshman year.
and varsity soccer in 9th and 10th grades and then had to drop due to back injury

For the last three years I have been very actively involved in a club that helps local spannish immigrants (without sufficient education and funds) and this year i have been chosen as the project lead for senior year.
In my sophomore year, I was selected by the school to go abroad for a community service project (75% financed by the school) and in junior year I independently worked with the same NGO on developing a project plan and presented to the school grants committe and have won the grant to spend a month in the summer in the same country.

I am also an avid writer and have been writing for various school papers and magazines. In my junior year, I was managing editor of a school and will be the chief editor in my senior year.

I have won several poetry contest in the town in my freshman and sophomore years.

I am also elected as the head of a cultural club at school in wich I have been very actively participating for the last three years and have put up various social/cultural events.

I do peer tutoring and school tours.

In the summer of sophomore year, I did lab reserach with a prof. in biology at a local college and also worked at a local hospital in Boston. I have done at least 100 hours of hospital volunteering as well.

You are at a great standing. Just make sure when you apply, make sure you check all the requirements.
Different school at Columbia may require higher or other necessary scores.
Relax, enjoy your summer.

Make sure you plan your senior year well.

Your essay is very important as you know there are other great students are applying too.
Essay will be the luck bet to reserve a good spot for you.

Your scores are fine. You might want to take the ACT just to provide another perspective. You seem to have very good depth in the activities you participate in. Make sure they know about your sports and the reason why you could no longer participate. You may even want to make this a topic of one of you essays. The only advice I would give you is to do make sure you essays focus on what makes you special and what you would bring to Columbia that would make you a unique leader.

In addition to Columbia, you might also want to apply to Penn, as they have an excellent program for writers. My daughter did and was accepted there as well. She chose Columbia but it was a very tough decision for her.

Colleges are looking for well rounded students as much as they look for people with specialized interests.

I applied to and was accepted to Columbia ED with a 2200 on my SAT (780M, 730W, 690R), 800 Bio M, and a 740 American History. I rank, I believe, 22 in my class of 150. That might not seem so ivy-league, right? Well, in my application I focused on what made me so different from other people. Specifically I focused on my self-started community service projects and teaching myself programming and physics.

Find a way to set yourself apart from everyone else. School clubs are terrific, but all students who apply to top-tier colleges are members of numerous “fluff-clubs.” Your work with local spanish immigrants seems like a project with the sort of depth that appeals to college admissions offices. Being a common contributor to school publications and the editor during your senior year seems much more common than the aforementioned project.

Try to convey what really sets you apart from the many thousands of other applicants.
