I am a senior. I changed schools in the middle of 10th grade and moved to a much larger/more academically challenging school. In 9th, 10th, and 11th grade I did not have a chance to take AP classes (except one) Why? My school in 9th grade and half of 10th grade did not have any advanced classes or AP classes because it was a tiny private school. My school for the other half of 10th grade and 11th grade allowed AP classes, but in order to be able to take one, you had to take an 'honors' class in the same subject first. Well, in the middle of 10th grade when I transferred, I was switched to all of the same classes I had been in at my other school except for civics. I was in 'honors' civics somehow (probably because it was the only civics class during that specific timeframe and they knew I could handle it)..
This allowed me to take AP U.S. history junior year. Before Senior year, I moved to Kentucky which obviously means I changed schools again
