I'm applying early decision and will be out of state

SAT scores:
-Reading: 600
-Math: 590
-Writing: 620

GPA:
-3.5

I also lettered in academics, orchestra, and track and field and have gotten student of the year twice (once for US history and once for P.E. lol), i got the coache's award for track in 2010, my girl scout silver award, got recruited for journalism and could get some really good recommendations

should i take the sats again? and what are my chances of admitttance?

For Northwestern? It’s a top 20 school.
Their middle SAT scores are:
SAT Critical Reading: 660 - 740
SAT Math: 680 - 770
SAT Writing: 670 - 760

So you would definitely need to take the SATs again for a good shot of admittance
GPA is pretty low as well
Do you have any strong ECs or community involvement?

First off, I would suggest retaking the SATs, those are really great scores, but northwestern is a very selective school, as far as I can tell that is a good gpa, but neither your gpa nor your SAT really wow me. Fortunately, you do have some pretty nice ECs, itd be nice to know wat classes you took, any APs? Otherwise, I think it is probably still a bit of a reach, but certainly not out of question, I know people who have had lower scores and a lower gpa, but wrote fabulous essays and had great ECs like yours who got into Amherst (16% acceptance). So just retake those SATs, pull your gpa up maybe just a tad, and then in your essay and ECs give them a reason to accept you, good luck, chance me back! ps hope that was helpful

thank you both! regarding AP classes,
i got a 4 in AP European history and a 5 in US history
and i will chance you back lol

Retake the SATs, devote more time to the math section and you will be fine :D
