10 CGPA in 9th and 10th
89% in 11th PCM , class rank 5
94% in 12th so far , class rank 2
All in a CBSE school.

My sat score is bad - 1850 and 1870 superscored. However I justified my marks in the essay by stating that I was attending JEE prep classes after school and was given only a week to prepare for SAT on both attempts.

I will be able to pay the entire fee, hence no aid or scholarship is required.

Great recs and essays. Decent ECs- leadership, many many achievements in art and some in basketball. Nothing at national level though.

The major I applied for is Computer Engineering.

Also, I am an IP student so I am familiar with programming. I have mentioned this in the washington app where I chose computer science as my intended major.

Also, i got 730 in Physics SAT but haven't sent it. Do you suggest that I send it? Though not required, how will it impact my app?

I want to apply to GTech but my chances are probably 0, right?

You have good chances for purdue and UW-madison. You can try GT, with your score it used to be easy till 2010. Now the acceptance rate went down drastically. It is 33% for fall 2014. It is expected to be between 25-30% this year. For early application they received 11000 applications against 7000 last year. Look at the competition. Don’t loose heart, but try, it only costs $70 for the application fees.

Be aware that UW Seattle direct admits for CSE only total about 200 I’m sure that not more than 20 pct will be from overseas. So if admitted you would have to compete for the major later, about 1/3rd of applicants will get in, the rest will have to choose a related major.

@F1crazy Oh, I see. Thanks for the advice. I will apply now. I read that the ratio of male and female students in engineering is messed up. I don’t know if this is true but I heard that because of the ratio, being a girl helps . I wonder if that will work in my favor. What is your opinion? Also, should I send my SAT Phy-730 score?

@BrownParent Oh yes, I read that somewhere but didn’t pay much attention to it. So, if I get into the University, getting into CSE depends on my first year’s performance? (For non-direct admits)
