Essay
I wrote about an influential family member, but I'm nervous about whether it was a good enough essay or not!

I really want to go to Vanderbilt, and I would really appreciate for you all to chance me honestly! Hold nothing back!

on paper you’re obviously an incredibly strong applicant. you are competitive with vanderbilt’s applicant pool. but there’s no way anyone on this site can tell you anything more than that. you will never know what the admissions office is looking for - there are cases where students with worse grades/scores/EC’s will get in and students with better ones will get rejected. there’s just no way to tell.
so yes, you are a strong, competitive applicant. beyond that, don’t get your hopes up or down by listening to what people say on this site. the only thing you can know is that you are a great applicant.
and don’t be discouraged if you don’t get the decision you’re looking for (not that I’m suggesting in any way that you won’t). but seriously looking back on how hyped up the college decision was, it’s not worth it. I’m a freshman now and looking back on everything, people really end up where they’re supposed to be. especially accomplished and hard working people like yourself. wherever you end up, you’ll do great. if its vandy, then go dores anchor down who ya with VU! if not, you’ll love it there too.
