PLEASE chance me for the 13 competitive colleges I applied to! 3.98 GPA 33 ACT

Realistically, the 11 colleges are reaches, as they are for 90% of seniors. However, I’d be extremely surprised if you got rejected from all of them - in other words, I think you have a good shot at getting into 2 or 3, I just have no way of predicting which ones those will be

Class Rank: 27/330
2nd Mathematics Level 1 SAT II: 780
2nd Mathematics Level 2 SAT II: 770

you guys…LOL…if its really come down to arguing over whether an applicant has a 32 or a 33…it has to be exhausting to work in admissions offices these days… @Frazzled503 please return to this thread on April 1 and tell us what happened…I am betting (with decent Vegas odds) that you make it into 3 of the 13 schools that you have listed.

My opinion, with just a tad of tailwind at your back, you are in at 5 of the schools listed.

Thank you for chancing me SouthernHope and boolaHI. I would be overjoyed with either of those outcomes.

3.98 UW gpa and you are ranked 31 in your class?? Sounds like your school just has an inflated gpa system. This puts you at a disadvantage because colleges will know there are 30 other students with perfect gpa’s in your grade. Scores are okay, but EC’s aren’t that good. I’d say reach for almost all of the schools on your list.

@blargenshmargen‌ My updated rank is 27 but your point still very much stands… The only factors in my favor in regards to your point are that my high school is fairly well respected and that I have taken the most rigorous course work available (while at least half of the 26 students ranked above me have not).

Grade inflation really is a shame. I have received a lot of high "A"s in high school yet that doesn’t matter because all that shows up on my transcript is an “A”… the same as many other students who received low "A"s and probably didn’t deserve them. If my school didn’t have grade inflation I’d have the opportunity to stand out from my peers but instead I’m barely ranked in the top 10% (I received one “B” one semester in Spanish 5-6 H). Meh, life ain’t fair.

I’d say that you’re definitely in at RPI with a decent scholarship; If you wrote some killer essays than I would guess at least one of the top schools too. Legacies could help you get into Cornell and maybe Stanford if they consider that a lot. As for Harvard, Columbia and such they are big reaches for everybody but hey ya never know!
Take a look at my thread if you could please

Waitlisted by WUSTL (didn’t demonstrate interest; no visit, interview, or scholarship apps).

Updated chances would be greatly appreciated.

Wustl wait listed me too lol. However, I hear that this is a good sign for ivies and the likes. You’re a competitive applicant since you didn’t get flat out rejected.

@IAmTheGOAT sorry but kanye is the GOAT

Congrats on the Tulane scholarship! Great school.

Hard to use the WashU waitlist as actual data because of their reputation. I’ve looked your OP up and down and yeah, you look like a competitive applicant. My opinion obviously doesn’t mean anything but I have to say, I was left wondering why you would deserve to go to some of the schools on your list over anyone else with your stats. Your numbers are fine, and if your essays were stellar and you feel confident in them, I would venture to say you’ll get into a couple of those top 11. Just depends, like you said, if the adcoms connect with you on that strange spiritual level that must only exist in mid-to-late March.

Best of luck! You’ll do well at any of these institutions.

Thank you for chancing me @redtater ! And thank you for the goodwill. That sounds like an accurate assessment.

please update with any results! im a bit of an introvert too and maybe you can give me some hope

@itsmyusername Will do! So far I’ve only been accepted to Tulane with a scholarship and put on WUSTL’s wait list.

Accepted to Rensselaer but there’s a 0.1% chance thay I’m going to attend, even if I get a merit scholarship… not sure why I applied.

As of today…

Tulane - Accepted
Rensselaer - Accepted
Carleton - Accepted
WUSTL - Waitlisted
Harvey Mudd - Rejected

Updated chances for the other 9 colleges I’m waiting for? What are the chances of me getting into at least one of the 9 left? All comments are much appreciated.

Any money from RPI? Carlton?
