Do I have a good chance at admission with any of these schools?

It’s hard to say how much of a factor URM plays for transfers. And for some publics, like UF, it can’t legally be taken into account at all.

Is cost a factor? Just asking because of so many OOS publics on your list.

Does Penn State have a transfer agreement with your CC? Seems like your CC advisor should be able to give you a very good idea of what you need to transfer there.

@entomom Cost may or may not be a factor as my mother and I will take out loans to cover whatever difference may come up. Even though we are solid middle class, my mom has a way of making things happen.

Anyone else have any input?

I think you have solid chances at all of those schools, except Columbia (reach) because it is an Ivy, but I assume you expected it would be a reach anyway. You have an impressive list of EC’s though so keep working on your GPA. Good luck!

There are many definitions of ‘solid middle class’, so I won’t attempt to know what you mean. Other than UVA and UNC-CH, OOS publics are rarely a good financial option since they offer little to no FA. And taking loans for UG are a concern, particularly if, as you member name alludes, you are planning on med school in the future.

What you do is up to you, I’m just stating this because we get lots of students who post after being accepted and receiving poor FA and complain about the high cost of an OOS public, when it was a given from the onset.
